VAN HEEST - Mrs. Sylvia Anne Van Heest aged 94 passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew "Andy" Van Heest; brothers, Henry and Cornelius Groendyk. Surviving are her children, Cynthia (John) Datema, Darl (Frances) Van Heest and Lorna (Bob) Reits; grandchildren, Kevin (Sheyla) Curtis, Robin (Michael) Kelley, Emily (Patrick) Brink; great grandchildren, Crystal Karraker, Andy Curtis, Zoe Brink; sister, Ruth (Jay) Doezema; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Samaritas for the kindness shown to our Mother during her time with them. Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Monday, September 26, 2016 at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave., with Rev. Kent Rottman, officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM on Sunday at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Interment Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
