Sue K. Kaechele

Sue K. Kaechele, age 57, of Byron Center, went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, July 14, 2022. During her life, Sue’s strength was evident as she gave 100 percent in whatever she did. She attended Thornapple Kellogg High School where she excelled in many ways and graduated with honors in the top 10 of her class. In band, she played first chair clarinet in middle and high school, she made all-state for track, and enjoyed playing basketball. She helped build and operate her family’s business at Custom Counter Top. Some of Sue’s favorite pastimes included walking her dogs, working on projects at the shop and spending time with friends and family. Her strength carried her through battles with cancer and mental health over the last five years. She will be especially missed for her smile and ability to encourage those around her. She was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Kaechele; nephew, Tyler Kaechele and brother-in-law, Brandon Norko. She will be lovingly remembered by her soulmate of 30 years, Tim Wiest; daughter, Emma Wiest; son, Jack Wiest; mother, Dorothy Kaechele; many loving brothers, sisters and their families; parents-in-law, Bob and Kathy Wiest and their families. A Memorial Mass will be held 11 am Wednesday, July 20th, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9669 Kraft SE, Caledonia, with Rev. Michael Cilibraise officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday, July 19 from 5-8:00 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 616 E. Main St. SE, Caledonia, as well as an hour prior to the service at church.
