I had the absolute privilege of being a student worker on Steve's summer team a few years back. He always made sure we were cared for and always checked in with us. He always knew where to find extra popsicles for us since working in the dorms was so hot! He'd encourage us to rest when we needed it, and often took the hardest jobs for himself. Everyone who got to encounter Steve is better because of it. He will be so dearly missed. Praying for his family during this time.

Praying for Steve’s family. He will be missed. Steve worked with me at Calvin and when he worked evenings in the Fieldhouse, he often dropped by my office to check in most evenings. He was kind and caring. He had a strong work ethic and took pride in his work. He always had encouraging words or a funny joke to share when he dropped by my office. He loved his children and spoke about them often. I’ll miss him but I’m comforted knowing that he’s dancing in heaven now.
Warmly,
Dr. Champion
