December 27, 2024

Steven Duane Clark, age 63, of Wyoming, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 after a courageous battle with colon cancer for the past year.  He retired after many years from Spartan Stores.  He enjoyed hockey, especially playing with his sons.  He also enjoyed bowling, golfing, trying specialty and local craft beers.  He was a handy guy and liked fixing things and woodworking.  Above all, he cherished the moments spent with his family, especially the beloved Saturday gatherings where everyone was welcomed with open arms. His greatest joy came from the time he spent with his grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter, wisdom, and endless affection that will carry with them forever.

Steve will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 41 years, Sharon; children: Kyle and Jenna Clark, Matt and Nicole Clark; grandchildren: Axel, Lily, Quinn, Rylan, Holden; siblings: Sue and Paul Schemanski, Chuck and Cari Arnold, Bob and Michele Clark; niece, Michelle and Randy Flynn; many other nieces and nephews, and “adopted son,” John Polanco.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Beatrice Clark, Raymond and Marion Narlock.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held Monday, December 30, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Walker Ice and Fitness Center, 4151 Remembrance Rd. NW, Grand Rapids.  Flowers may be sent to the family’s home address, please.

Steve was a kind and genuine man who always welcomed those around him and made them feel like family. He had a knack for teaching you about craft beer and always wanted to have a good time wherever he went. He was quick to lend a hand if it was needed. His family and friends will dearly miss him, but we will always remember his smile and his kind heart. He also loved having family and friends over for bonfires and cookouts! Those were the best nights staying up late and having good conversations. We love you and miss you so much Steve. Rest peacefully and we hope the ice is cold, the beer is colder and the fairways are green.

Steve, Words cannot describe how much I miss you. You were the best father-in-law a girl could ask for. It was the small things you did for me that made me smile. Thank you for everything. We miss you dearly and are forever grateful for the love you gave us. Love and miss you so so much. I will be sure to win that fourth place trophy. 😊
