Steve Buer

Steve Buer, age 64, of Middleville, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 17. Steve lived his life with passion. Whatever he pursued, he did it with all his heart. Steve’s greatest passions were his family, his career—Buer Well Drilling which he owned and operated, and his many interests, which through the years included karate, racing, hunting and fishing, beach volleyball, snowboarding and music. Steve was a man of deep faith in Jesus. His faith sustained him as he dealt with cancer for over seven years. His faith inspired him to serve for many years as a volunteer youth leader and to play a leading role in clean water projects in Nigeria. Some of his favorite memories were traveling to Africa to train and equip African water well drillers. Steve will be remembered as a faithful husband and devoted father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Cara. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Terri Buer and his children, Aaron and Katie Buer, Stephanie Buer, Rachelle and Lars Gustafson, and Andrew and Sarah Buer; his ten grandchildren, Keegan, Lily, Jackson, Piper, Remy, Ethan, Bjorn, Freyja, Ellery and Teddy, as well as his mother Sarah “Joan” Buer; and his siblings, Joe Buer and Lynn Baird and their spouses. A memorial service will be held 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Ada Bible Church (Kentwood Campus) 2045 68th St. SE, Caledonia. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be given to Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network.
