Stephen McPhall

Stephen Allen McPhall, age 60, of Grandville, was called to his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 4, 2016 after a courageous and dignified battle with Multiple System Atrophy. He was preceded in death by his father, Roland Noel McPhall, and his brother, Gregory Lee McPhall. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Sandra (Bourbonais); children, Kevin, Spencer, and Allison McPhall; mother, Ann McPhall; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marilyn and Ed Bourbonais; brother and sister-in-law, Bradley and Sherry McPhall; several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held Friday, January 8, 2016 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Chapel, 4145 Chicago Drive SW, Grandville, MI 49418 where a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Scott Sommerfeld officiating. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice or Alternatives in Motion.

Dear Sandy, Although we just briefly met through a small church group and only a few times together, we want you to know that we were praying for God's blessing for your family. We were away from town during the week and actually still are, but the news reached us through the church bulletin and we wanted you to know that there are people you may not know well, but who still care for you through Christ. Perhaps we will meet again in the future.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Stephen's death. I worked with Stephen on a number of occasions over the years and was always impressed by his willingness to help, to go the extra mile and always do it with a smile and cheerful attitude. It was my great pleasure to have known him and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
