Stephanie Monterusso

Stephanie Monterusso, age 86, of Wyoming, was called to her heavenly home on Friday, April 6, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; brother Joseph Aquano.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Philip J. Monterusso, Rosalie and Dan Smith, Peter and Sandra Monterusso, Lucy Schroeder, Esther and Bryan West, Steve and Shawna Monterusso; 20 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sisters, Pauline Amormino, Mary Schulz; sister-in-law, Rose and Jim Sarnicola; many nieces and nephews. Stephanie was a loving, caring, dedicated mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed doing crossword and word search puzzles. She was much loved by her Pine Oak family where she could often be found helping her neighbors and making them laugh.  She cared deeply for her family and helped Jack run the restaurant business by taking care of the books.  To quote her family, “She was  the only person on earth who could divide her love among six children and each child still have ALL her love.” According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.  A celebration of Stephanie’s life will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Rockford American Legion Post #102, 330 Rockford Park Dr., Rockford. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
