Stella (Potyraj) Homrich

​Stella Homrich, age 94, of Grand Rapids, was called home by her Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 15, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born April 19, 1928. She married Delmar on May 22, 1948, and he predeceased her. Stella was predeceased by six brothers; Frank (Agnes), John (Lottie), Tony (Esther), Edward, Joseph (Shirley) Potyraj, infant brother, Jan Potyraj; two sisters, Lottie (Stan) Kowalski, Mary (Emmett) Burns; and a granddaughter, Rebecca Wheat.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Pat (Lonnie) Ackerman, Cindy (Don) Pinckney, Connie (Brad) Wheat; grandchildren, Marci (Jeff) Muller, Chris Ackerman, Jeff (Stacey) Pinckney, Sarah (Dave) Tarnow, Michael (Jessica) Wheat, Kaylynn (Tim) Cook; three great-grandchildren, Lila and Ethan Pinckney, and Adalynn Cook; and many grand-dogs. Stella enjoyed embroidery and working on word search, and she was known as the family seamstress and for keeping her house very tidy. What was very important to Stella was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, 11 am at MKD Funeral Chapel, 4646 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Kentwood MI, with Rev. John Vallier officiating. Private burial Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Tuesday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Santa Claus Girls or Gentiva Hospice.
