Sister Agnes Wojtkowiak OP

Wojtkowiak, OP, Sister Agnes Mary of Gaylord died on March 8, 2025.  She was 84 years old and a Dominican Sister for 66 years.  Sr. Agnes Mary earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Aquinas College. She continued her education serving as teacher and principal at many schools in Michigan.  In addition to teaching, Sr. Agnes served as Pastoral Associate for 40 years at St. Michael’s Parish in Muskegon. She considered St. Michael’s her home and family, growing everyday together.  Sr. Agnes Mary enjoyed spending time outdoors, sewing, and canning.  She loved music and watching football and baseball.  Renowned for her teaching, spiritual, and pastoral needs of her community, she was a testament to faith, service, and love.  Sr. Agnes Mary is survived by her sisters Rita Butka, Bernadine (Fred) Kilcline, Jane (Michael) Flinn, her brother Tom Wojtkowiak, sisters-in-law, Marie Wojtkowiak, and Barbara Wojtkowiak, nieces and nephew, many friends, and members of her Dominican Community.  Sr. Agnes Mary will repose at Marywood Chapel of the Word, 111 Lakeside Dr. NE, with a Remembering Service on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 9:00 am and a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30 am. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery.  Memorials in Sister Agnes Mary’s name may be made to the Grand Rapids Dominican Sisters.
