Shirley Mulder

MULDER - Shirley Ann Mulder age 71, a child of God, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 30, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Henrietta Mulder; foster son, Eric Olds. Surviving are her daughter, Heather (Bill) Smith; grandchildren, Amber Glover, Jenna Glover (Tracy Cronkite), Nate Smith (Katelyn Neumann), Dakota Smith, Caitlin Smith, Owen Smith, Wayne Smith; great grandchildren, Carter Gould, Brooklynn Smith; Sister Bonnie (Mark) Potter, brother, Wayne (Karen) Mulder; several nieces and nephews. Shirley became a Christian in her early teens and she found comfort in her faith her whole life. She loved reading her Bible, praying for friends and family and sharing prayer and words of comfort with everyone she met. She retired from Grand Rapids Public Schools after 30 years of service. A celebration of her life will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel - Belmont, 1601 Post Drive NE. Her family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4 to 8PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
