Shirley Mae Jurries (DeBoer), age 91, of Jenison, formerly of Grandville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 and is now home with her Lord and Savior. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Luann; twin sister, Marie Ann DeBoer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Herman and Gertrude Jurries, Hazel Jurries, Harold and Lorrie Jurries, Ruth and James Strong, and Harold Smith. She will be lovingly remembered by her loving husband of 66 years, Leonard Jurries; children, Randy and Darla Jurries, Mark and Joy Jurries, Tom and Deb Jurries; grandchildren, Grant, and Krystin Jurries, Mark Jurries, Janna and Steve Birn, John, Charles, Grace, Elizabeth, Harrison, and James Jurries, Steven Jurries; great-grandchildren, Stuart, Vivian, Henry “Sparky”, and Harold; her sister, Laurie Smith; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Fellowship Reformed Church, 6610 36th Ave, Hudsonville, with Rev. Harry Koops and Pastor John Nauta officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and on Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at American House Sandalwood Manor and Spectrum Health Hospice for the love and compassionate care given Shirley.
