Shirley Evans, of Allendale, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 15, 2022. Her parents, Joseph and Eleanor Meyers, welcomed her as a Fourth of July ‘firecracker’ baby in 1936, and she did not disappoint. Always active in her church, Shirley especially enjoyed organizing events: coordinating and serving large quantities of food as her expression of love. She will be lovingly remembered by her faithful husband of 68 years, Vern, her children: Gary and Lucy Evans, Cindy Zorn; her grandchildren: Gary and Erin Evans, Geoff and Renee Evans, Greg and Erin Evans, Gage and Amber Evans, Trevor Zorn, and Tanner Zorn; 13 great-grandchildren; 6 brothers and sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Life Stream Church, 6561 Lake Michigan Dr., Allendale, with Rev. Jim Maness officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at Life Stream Church. An additional service will be held on Monday, August 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Central Baptist Church, E703 River Road, Stephenson, MI, with Pastor Luke Priebe officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends on Monday from 10-11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church. A private burial will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Life Stream Church-Fully Restored Fund.
