Shirley Ann Luxford

Shirley Ann Luxford, age 86, of Byron Center, was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 14, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Theresa Fitzgerald; granddaughter, Amanda Luxford. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Robert (Linda) Luxford, Tim (Joan) Luxford; grandchildren, Angela (Mark) Christensen, Jennifer (Phil) Jordon, Dr. Cindy Luxford, Karen (Ben) Hahnenberg, Brian Luxford, Emily (Ryan) Hackney; eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Shirley was a kind, loving, caring wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved being around the family and entertaining the grandkids. She enjoyed watching mystery shows and the Hallmark Channel on TV. She enjoyed traveling with the senior groups on day-long bus trips. Shirley was a devoted and active member of St. John Vianney parish and helped out with parish events. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 21 at 11 am at Saint John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with Rev. John Vallier officiating. Burial Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Special Olympics.
