Shawn Renee Buist

Shawn Renee Buist, age 54, of Allendale, was welcomed into her heavenly home on Friday, October 15, 2021. Shawn was born in Zeeland, Michigan on July 7, 1967 to John and Sandy Driesenga. She has been in the Allendale area her entire life. She married her husband, Doug Buist, in 1989 and then had two children, Alexandria and Carrington. Shawn worked as a delivery specialist for NAPA Automotive for four years. She cherished time with her family and friends, spending time outdoors, traveling and camping at Big Star Lake. She will be greatly missed for her fun-loving personality, her laughter and big smile. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sharla Driesenga. Shawn will be lovingly remembered by her parents, John and Sandy Driesenga; her husband of 32 years, Doug; daughter, Alexandria Buist; son, Carrington Buist; brother, Shannon (Erika) Driesenga; mother-in-law, Carol Buist; brothers-in-law, Dale (Colleen) Buist and Dan (Karen) Buist; nephews: Zander and Carson Driesenga, Justin, Chris, and Patrick Buist; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at North Blendon Christian Reformed Church, 7284 Taylor St., Hudsonville, with Pastor Aaron Vriesman and Pastor Rick LeFebre officiating. Interment will take place at Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday, October 18, 2021, from 3-7 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale) 6651 Scott St, and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at church.
