Sharyl Stembaugh

Sharyl Lynne Stembaugh, age 60, of Newaygo, Michigan, passed away on February 28, 2025, in Byron Center, Michigan. She was born on January 25, 1965, to Michael and Susan Joyce in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Shari dedicated her life to Christ, positively impacting others through her participation in many church activities, Hark Up, and the West Michigan Flute Ensemble. Helping many as a counselor and social worker, Shari always had the ability to connect and put a smile on people’s faces. Whether it be acquiring a herd of horses as a hobby or bringing home a new dog to add to the pack; Shari always had an affinity and love for animals. Often seen with her Miniature Australian Shepherd business partner, Marshall. One of the many things her family appreciated about Shari was her love and gift of baking. While enjoying homemade cookies, breads, cheesecakes, and many others; she would often tell stories about spending time in the kitchen with her mother and grandmother passing down generations of recipes. Shari is survived by her parents, Mike and Sue Joyce; brother, Jeff and Doreen Joyce; children Nick Welch, Alex and Jess Welch; grandchildren, Sam and Levi. A celebration of life open house will be held on Thursday, May 8, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Grand Ravines Lodge, 9920 42nd Ave., Jenison, Michigan.
