Sharon Lee (Ridenour)  Peterman

Sharon Lee (Ridenour) Peterman, age 66, of Grand Rapids was called to her heavenly home after a brief illness on Thursday, October 2, 2014 and now joins her husband, Richard who preceded her in death in 2011.  Sharon was a loving mom and grandma who had a determined and driven spirit.  Her selfless and genuine interest in others was evident to all who knew her.  She treasured her relationship with her family and valued holiday traditions.  She graduated from Grandville High School in 1966 and still participated in monthly dinners with some of her classmates.  She also graduated Magna Cum Laude from Aquinas College in 1993.  She had a love for art which blessed her with the opportunity to travel all over the country with her husband to many of his juried art shows.  Sharon also had a passion and heart for animals.  Many cats have been loved and adopted over the years because of her.  She will be greatly missed by her children, Holly and Felipe Gomez, Scott and Sara Peterman; her four grandchildren, Lily, and Joshua Gomez, Jasper, and Malena Peterman; her best friend, Nancy Smith; many special relatives and friends.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am on Monday at St. Pius X Catholic Parish, 3937 Wilson Ave. SW, Grandville, with Father Chris Rouech, Celebrant.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday from 10-11 am (one hour prior to the service) at the church.  In honor of Sharon’s love of animals memorial contributions may be made to an animal shelter of one’s choice, West Michigan Hospice or Gilda’s Club.

It is so hard to say good-bye to a cool sister-in law who I have know since the late 60's early 70's. All the ups and down's load's of fun times I remember as scott and Holly grew up two little cuties with Red hair like their moma. The family parties at holiday's Christmas at my folks.fun times up=north, garage sales looking for that perfect treasurer. So many memories that are embedded in my heart. I will always miss her, I feel on dis connect. As we all get older, our faith is what brings up to the full circle of life. My prays will always be with Scott and his family and Holly and her family. Your mom though we will miss her dearly, is now with Dick, my brother and her love of her life in God's kingdom whole and together again forever. Hugs Judy Nicklas

I worked with Sharon for several years and have kept in contact since she retired. We buried her husband a few years ago, at which time I found out that I knew her son Scott (we called him Scotty at Brann's). I met his daughter Holly at the funeral who is the spitting image of Sharon. I'm so sorry for you kids to have lost both your parents so early. She loved spending time with you and your kids. She enjoyed retirement more than most, and I wish she could have had more time to enjoy it. God rest your soul Sharon. TRACEY BARNICK

Will always treasure the times that we had together, she was a fun, caring person. She will be greatly missed.
