Sharon Kay Brinks

Sharon Kay (Van Noord) Brinks, age 80, of Grandville was peacefully called home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerrit and Alice Van Noord; parents-in-law, John and Reka Brinks; her brother, Gerrit Van Noord, Jr.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill DeWitt, Jay Herweyer, Ray Modders, Harold and Dorothy Brinks, Ray and Mae Dykstra, Vivian Brinks, Gary and Lois Zuiderveen. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who treasured her family. She was a longtime, faithful employee at Notions Marketing for many years until she retired. She enjoyed being outdoors and being active. Many great memories were made camping with friends, walking, and working in her flower garden. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 59 years, Ivan “Ike” Brinks; children, Brian Brinks, Brenda and Rey Vela, Barbara Brinks; her grandchildren, Jaime Vela, Lauren Vela, Taylor and Bryan Warkoczeski; Chase Brinks; her sisters and brothers, Laura De Witt, Don and Esther Piers, Viola De Vries, Gene and Doris Van Noord, Ruth Van Noord; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ruth Modders, and Robert Brinks; many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 8, 2018, at South Grandville Christian Reformed Church, 4130 Wilson Avenue SW, Grandville, with Rev. Dr. Dan Mouw officiating. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW.
