Selma Godin, age 94, of East Lansing, was called to her heavenly home on Friday, October 4, 2019 surrounded by people who loved her.   She was preceded in death by both her husbands, Bud Evans and Warren Godin, siblings; Ruth Petzold, Cecile McNitt, Sylvia Ludford, Emmanuel Schwartz.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Virginia (Ginger), Edwin, Ronald, and Barry Evans; grandsons, David, Andrew, Zachary, Nathaniel, and Benjamin Evans; eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.  Selma was a loving, caring, warm wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was faith-filled and kept her Bible by her bed.  Her love of scripture created the path for her life.  Selma loved camping and traveling and took her children to nearly all 50 states.  Selma was a Registered Nurse at Butterworth Hospital, a real estate agent, and finally worked 23 years as a bookkeeper for her daughter.  Selma’s hallmark qualities were worshipping the Lord and taking care of her family. She enjoyed immersing herself in family functions, beautiful music, and being an avid card player.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019, 11 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Interment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Camp Concordia, 13400 Pinewood St., Gowen, MI 49326.
