Scott William Koomen

  Scott William Koomen, age 59, of Hudsonville, passed on to eternal life in Jesus on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. “The Light of the World is Jesus.” Scott was a kind and loving man with a free spirit. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Scott was also an excellent cook, always preparing delicious meals for his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Amber Koomen and his father, Clarence Koomen. He is survived by his sons, Jared Koomen, and Jesse Koomen; mother, Agnes Koomen; sister, Swanee and Doug Van Singel; 4 grandchildren; companion of 12 years, Debra Dykstra; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday 2:30 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Rev. Robert Huisman officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 1:30-2:30 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Holland or the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church.
