Sandra M. Herrington

On March 29, 2022, the beautiful and wonderful woman, Sandra M. Herrington, peacefully passed away from this world and is now in Heaven. She was surrounded by her loved ones, in the comfort of her own home. She was born on February 24, 1938, in Grand Rapids, MI, to Hiram and Donna (Brott) Shaver. She is now at peace with her parents; sisters, Judy, Delores, Patricia, Clairene; brothers, Bruce and Eugene; and her son, Mark; all of whom preceded her in death. Her memory and spirit live on with her partner, Donald Dunstan Sr; her brother, Butch and Betty Shaver; her son, Roger Allen; her daughter, Laura (Frank) Davis; her daughter-in-law, Cindy Herrington; her granddaughters, Jennifer Davis and Christen (Chuck) Olson; her grandsons, Marcus Herrington and David Davis; and her great grandchildren, Kendall Kamphius, Easton Olson, and Everly Olson. Sandra worked at Spectrum Hospital for many years and loved bringing meals to the patients. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family laughing and visiting. She was a warm and loving woman, mother, and grandmother, and made an impact on those around her with her bright eyes and smile, her charm, her passion for life, and her quick wit. She will always be remembered by her family and those who knew her. A service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 4 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood. She will be buried at Garfield Park Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Heartland Hospice, Area of Aging, Dr. VanWingen, and Dr. Wright for their special and heartfelt care.
