Sandra Lee Wilkins, age 75, of Freeport, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Sandra worked as a nurse’s aide at Thornapple Manor in Hastings, and later retired from Viking Corp. in 2011. She was an avid reader. She also loved researching family history, gardening and home canning. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Wilkins; sister, Mira and Chester Snyr; parents, Julia (Lucas) and Boyd Bennett. She will be lovingly remembered by sons: Joseph Gillum, Brian and Jennifer Gillum; granddaughter, MacKenzie Gillum; grandsons by marriage: Nick Petrovich, Alexander VonEverec; siblings: Wanda and Mike Simpson, Terry and Don Barley, Bobby and Rowena Bennett, Eddie and Beverly Bennett; beloved nieces, nephews and cousins and their families; and special feline companion, Mitzi. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation (cprf.org) or Crash’s Landing (crashslanding.org).
