Sandra Lee (Scally) Doran, 79, of Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly in her home on October 28, 2017. She was welcomed into heaven by her loving husband, James; and her parents, John and Frances (Sullivan) Scally. She is survived by her three children, Kimberley (Matthew) Pedler, Timothy Doran, and Jennifer (Jack) Nicholson; grandchildren, Rebecca, David, and Samuel Pedler, Christopher Doran, Austin and Brandon Nicholson; her sister, Jacqueline Anderson; brother, John (Sylvia) Scally; sister-in-law, Ruth Doran; life-long best friend, Darlyne (Homrich-Bowhuis) McDowell; and many very special nieces and nephews. Sandy was born in NE Grand Rapids, where she attended St. Alphonsus before moving to "the country" to what we now know as Wyoming and riding the bus downtown to attend St. Andrew's grade school. She was a very proud alumni of the Catholic Central Class of 1957. She avidly followed the various sporting news on "her Cougars" and especially when her grandchildren were on the team. She was a loving wife, dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and Irish woman. She took great pride in her home and flower gardens. Sandy spent many years volunteering for her church, school and little league. She enjoyed reading, cheering for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, watching the river go by, talking with friends, taking care of her family and watching her grandchildren grow into successful young adults. In her retirement, she worked part time for several years for Grandville and Jenison Public Schools. Visitation will be at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, on Wednesday Nov. 8 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1630 Godfrey Ave SW, Wyoming, on Thursday Nov. 9 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Stephen Dudek, celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Greatest Gift Campaign of Catholic Central High School (
