Sandra Hooyer

Sandra “Sandy” Kay Hooyer, age 81, of Grandville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 15, 2024. Sandy was a beautician for many years and also enjoyed her work in patient transfer at Butterworth Hospital, loved being with her friends at Hope Christian Reformed Church, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerrit and Johanna Geers, and sister, Shirley Geers. Sandy will be  lovingly remembered by her best friend and husband of 61 years, John; children, Bonnie and Mike Komejan, Brian and Barb Hooyer, Betsy and Randy Cross; grandchildren, James and Danielle Komejan, T.J. and Jackie Komejan, Stacie and Chaz VanKoevering, Ryan Hooyer, Tyler and Allison Hooyer, Alex Cross; four great-grandchildren, Harper, Haven, Jackson, and Parker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Bev Geers, Don and Marcia Geers; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Wednesday, November 20, from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Anchor Point Christian School or Grandville Calvin Christian School.
