Sandra Ann Gort

​Sandra Ann Gort, age 53, of Jenison, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. Sandy’s last message for her family and friends was “I got sad news, they have tried everything, but it is not effective. The surgery cannot be done due to my weakness. We were told 3-5 months to live, please pray for a miracle and support Brian”. Her miracle was received and is now home in the presence of Jesus! Sandy was blessed with a fun and bubbly personality that had a zest for life. She was kind and selfless who always put others before herself. Sandy worked for Trinity Health as a scheduler for the past 12 years. She was active at Grace Reformed Church with her time and talents with high school youth group, GEMS, and anything she could help serve on. Known as “mom” to many of her church kids, her impact on lives will be cherished by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Joan Patterson. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 28 years, Brian; her brother, Robert Patterson; her parents-in-law, Harv and Carolyn Gort; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Steve and April Gort; her niece and nephew, Mitch and Alison Gort; and many loving extended family members. Funeral services will be held on Thursday 11 am at Grace Reformed Church, 3330 Burlingame Ave. SW, Wyoming, with Pastor Heather Dood officiating. The service will also be live streamed via the church’s Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Grace-Reformed-Church-Wyoming-MI-131389090291839/live_videos/). Burial at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, Grandville and from 10-10:45 prior to the service at church.
