Sally Lowe

Sally Teesdale Lowe, age 63, died 12 September 2017. Sally was born in Grand Rapids to William and Nancy Teesdale, and graduated from Ottawa Hills High School and Grand Rapids Junior College. In 1985 Sally married David J. Lowe with whom she had three children: Lindsey Joyce Lowe, Gregory Allen Lowe, and Andrew Steven Lowe. Sally was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, David. Surviving are her children, Lindsey, Greg, and Andrew; her brother, Scott (Deborah) Teesdale; and her sister, Anne (John) Zukowski. Sally lived with vitality, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to whatever she was doing. From her childhood to her early adult years she spent much of her time enjoying, practicing and perfecting recreational sports and activities, including-but not limited to-volleyball, figure skating, skeet shooting, wood burning, and swimming. These endeavors led her to many competitions, many friendships, and fueled her love for activity. She worked for Auto Wares for 40 years, where her dedication and experience made her an invaluable member of not only the marketing department, but of the entire organization. Sally moved in with David to their Heritage Hill home when they were married in 1985, where they started their family and lived for the rest of their lives. Sally's world revolved around her family and friends. Over the 30 years she lived in her home on Union Avenue, Sally was integral to her block becoming more like family than neighbors. She fiercely loved her children, who she raised on her own since David's death in 2006. Sally was like a second mother to her children's friends who frequented the house, and she always opened her home without question when they needed a place to stay. Her compassion and love were given freely and abundantly to all who were fortunate enough to know her. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 15, 2017 at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 100 Buckley St. SE. Her family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to the service as well as one hour following the service.
