Sally Erwood, age 88, of Grand Rapids and formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 54 years, George; her son, Kenneth; grandson, Jesse Ferguson; siblings Gerard, EmmaJeane, Roger, Nancee and David. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Paula, Thomas, and Ann (Aaron) Wharton, Valerie; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brothers, P. Thomas, and Richard (Sunop) Feutz; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1253 52nd St., Kentwood, with Rev. Peter Vu presiding. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood and also on Saturday from 10-11 am at church prior to the service. A Rosary service will be held 7:30 pm Friday at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice or the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
