Sally A. Colter

Sally A. Colter, age 67, of Allegan, joined her father, Jay Schaaf, in Heaven on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Kenneth, of 48 years of marriage; children, Melissa (David) Ferber, Kendra (Nicholas) VandenBerg, Leila Colter, Katelyn (Brandon) Warrington; grandchild, Ezekiel VandenBerg; mother, Maxine Schaaf; siblings, Susan (Akram) Shamali, Sandra (Robert) Bennett, Sherri (Ralph) Bowden; aunts, nieces, nephews; and many fur grandbabies. A private funeral service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Hands of Hope to help with other multiple myeloma cancer patients. I was saddened to hear of Sally passing! As colleagues have shared in the guestbook, Sally was a special person! I worked with Sal at Jackson Park, Newhall, and Wyoming Park (Wyoming Junior High School). She was a fellow math instructor, and truly a loving, giving person. She has been in my daily prayers for several years, and I am certain that she is enjoying her reunion with the Lord.

Sally and I worked a couple summer craft sessions together at Jackson Park. She was such a happy , creative , patient person to be around and we shared a lot of laughs together. Sally definitely had a gift for teaching the middle school students, which wasn't always easy. I will remember her also as a very caring and dedicated person with an infectious smile!

We are saddened to hear of Sally's passing. She was a colleague of ours at Jackson Park for many years and daughter Leila was a member of the Wyoming Rogers Band under our direction. Sally was a positive influence on her students, her fellow teachers, and her family. Remember the good times.
