Ryan was my student at Ottawa Hills HS. He was always a happy student. He did his best in school and in the community. I appreciated his friendly and welcoming spirit at school and later at Metro Hospital where we trained students for the work world. Ryan enjoyed people and experiences. He made friends readily and was always kind. God Bless Ryan as he continues to take his loving and friendly spirit to heaven to make more friends.

Ryan was the baby I took care of in the one room ped's ICU in September of 1975. I was expecting my own baby, so I bonded with him and have always remembered him. and Joyce we have met several times over the years, once at a McDonalds, and another time at Metro when he was a patient. I am sorry for your loss.

I'm saddened to learn of Ryan's death. He volunteered for a number of years at Metro Health. Ryan always showed up religiously each week to greet everyone as they entered the cafe. He took his volunteer position very seriously and did a fabulous job in the process! Over the years, I watched as he became more independent moving from his manual wheelchair to a motorized one. And then, another big step of moving to David's House. He made a big impact on his Metro family, made up of employees and fellow volunteers. He was a wonderful person and I will truly miss his smile. RIP Ryan.

Our sympathy to Ryan's family and friends. We remember when Ryan was baptized with our son Andy who was a miracle baby. We sang "Precious Jewels" because that's what those two babies were.
