Ruth Uitvlugt, age 90, of Grandville, passed away to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Rev. Jacob Uitvlugt; grandson, Andrew Lee Uitvlugt; brother, Bruce VanDuinen; brother-in-law, Peter and Ruth Uitvulgt; and sister-in-law, Kitty and Gene Potts. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Deborah Van Garderen, Robert and Cheryl Uitvlugt, Barbara and Daniel Habers; grandchildren, Marissa Van Garderen and Patrick Heraty, Jeremy and Jessica Uitvlugt, Jacob and Melinda Uitvlugt, Amber Uitvlugt, Dennis Uitvlugt, Hannah Uitvlugt, Joshua and Katerina Habers, Elizabeth Habers; 12 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Gladys Uitvlugt; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Rev. Tyler Wagenmaker officiating. The burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
