Ruth Lorraine Deremo

​Ruth Lorraine (Marcroft) Deremo, born January 12, 1929, passed away in Grand Rapids, Michigan on March 10, 2022, at the age of 93.

She was the beloved daughter of Evelyn and Edwin Marcroft and treasured wife of James L. Deremo, all of Grand Rapids. Her husband Jim was the love of her life, and they were happily married until his death in 2001.

Family was everything to Lorraine and her loving presence guided them all. She will be deeply missed by her four children: Janice Deremo Lundy (Brad), Mark Deremo (Diane), Linda Deremo (David Sanchez) and Tom Deremo (Mara) She was adored by her many grandchildren: Cassandra VanderMeulen (Aaron), Kyle Forrest, Taylor Martel (David), Holly Deremo, James Deremo, Larissa Deremo, Amanda Deremo (Sean Wierzbicki), Brittani Deremo, Meredith Felix (Zachary), Clark Deremo. She delighted in her ever-growing family and great-grandchildren: Cole, Nicholas, Joseph, Scarlett, Wesley and Vatea. She was preceded in death by her sister Lois (Marcroft) Grice and good friend Robert Eddy. Lorraine attended South High School and delighted in all things “Grand Rapids.” She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Lorraine will be remembered for her genuinely loving nature, kindness, bright smile, positive attitude, and zest for life. “Everybody loved Lorraine.”

A private, family memorial is being planned (date to be determined). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Spectrum Health Hospice.

Mother Dear, I cannot tell you how much you are so deeply missed. No one could have asked for a more loving, caring, kind and generous mother than you! You were not only my dear mother but best friend and I feel like the luckiest woman in this world. I pray that you are with our creator, at peace and with our loving Dad creating all the beautiful and bright moments you so deserve.We all miss you each moment of the day! I love you Mom💕
