Ruth L. Bruner

Ruth L. (Kamp) Bruner, age 93, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 4, 2017 with her family at her side.  Ruth was a kind and compassionate wife, mother and grandmother who loved serving God and others.  She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.  She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 68 wonderful years, Robert; children, Linda and Rev. Lee Ausema, Susan and Douglas Keegstra, Robert and Donna Bruner, Karen and John Moran; seven grandchildren, Kerri and Jerry Loranger, Emily Ausema and John McCartney, Jodi Keegstra, Brent Keegstra and fiancée, Anne Cawley, Elizabeth Ausema and Jordan Nelson, Nicholas Bruner, Alyson Moran; two great-grandchildren, Kian Ausema-Nelson and Ellie Loranger; sister, Norma Boonstra; and many nieces and nephews.  Ruth worked as a paraprofessional for 27 years for the Grand Rapids Public Schools. She retired at the age of 77. The following year she went back to volunteer with the students because she loved working with the children.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 12 noon at Calvary Church, 707 East Beltline NE, Grand Rapids, with Pastor Josh Mateer officiating.  Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 10-11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Bethany Christian Services or Emmanuel Hospice.
