Ruth Burkholder

Burkholder - Ruth Mae Burkholder nee (Oosdyke) went home to be with the Lord surrounded by all her loving family. Ruth was the only daughter of Harry and Peg Oosdyke and stepmother Ann. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Burkholder, brothers Thomas and Richard Oosdyke, and daughter-in-law Patty Burkholder. Remembering her with great love and affection are her 11 children: Michael & Donna, Brenda & Tom Zerance, Terese & Phil Vargaz, Pat & Cheri, Duffy & Karen, Julie & Tommy Jones, Peggy & Ken Eden, Jim & Sara, John, Chuck, Mary Kukla, and Peggy & Bob Rasch, 22 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.

Ruth was a member of Assumption Parish for over 50 years. She was a school bus driver for Assumption and Comstock Park for many years. She was president of ABWA. Ruth loved golfing and boating at Hardy Dam. She gave to many charities throughout her life.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, November 10 at 11:00 AM at Assumption BVM Catholic Church with Father Tom Page and Father Tony Pelak. 6390 Belmont Ave NE, Belmont MI, 49306.  Ruth’s family will greet relatives and friends 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont.
