On Saturday, February 27, 2021 we said our final earthly goodbyes to our sweet girl, Ruby Rissley, age 7, of Jenison. Our hearts are heavy and we appreciate your many prayers. Ruby will be dearly missed by her parents, Harry and Miranda Rissley; brothers, Harry IV, Leonardo, and Finnegan; grandparents, Randy and Renee Marcusse, June Streit, Harry and Samantha Rissley and family; uncles and aunts, Henry and Madeline Marcusse, Kathryn Rissley and Chesten VanPelt, Ken Rissley; cousin, Kaylee Rissley; great-grandparents, Ray and Betty Berens, Harry Rissley; and many other extended family members. A service to celebrate Ruby’s life will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at 6 p.m. at Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, 5250 Byron Center SW, Wyoming, with Rev. Roger Groenboom officiating. The service will be livestreamed. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday, March 3, from 4-7 p.m. at the church. We were able to donate her precious heart valves to Gift of Life. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.

I’m am so sorry to hear about your loss. Please know that God is the hearer of prayer and he is the God of comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3,4). God also promises that there will be a resurrection so you can have the hope of seeing your precious little girl once again (John 5:28, 29). Dear Sweet Ruby, You don't know me, but I've saw you. When you came to McDonald’s. Your smile so bright. Just seeing your precious smile made my day. Once again...My heart goes out to Ruby’s family. I did not have the privilege of knowing Ruby or her family but I am so saddened by her loss. We are so sorry for your loss of your beautiful little girl Ruby! Our hearts hurt for you all! For only being 7 years old she sure touched a lot of lives & is leaving her Legacy. We love her phrase, “Be A Ruby!” She was a special little girl! We know now she’s with Jesus and was welcomed by her Aunt Kathy, and my brother & his wife (Harlan & Jody) who adore children! We are praying for you all! There are no words we can say that can take this pain away from you. But hopefully knowing others care and you’re in their prayers will help! Our hearts go out to little Harry who was with her when it happened. We pray he can get past this tragedy. Also for the 2 little brothers who adored their big sister. Miranda, Harry and family, There are no words to express how very sorry I am for your loss of such a beautiful young lady. As a mother of three grown children my heart aches for you. Ruby had the most bubbly personality, I had the opportunity of teaching her music at Bursley Elementary for my student teaching. I will never forget the note she wrote for me right before I left, ‘Always be happy and Never be sad, I love you’ praying for your sweet family and will forever remember this sweet little girl.

We didn’t know Ruby in person,but enjoyed seeing so many pictures of her and her brothers! We know her Grandma, Renee and her great grandparents ,Ray and Betty Berens! To all of the family!
