Roy Charles Forgar

Roy C. “Chuck” Forgar, age 78, of Grandville passed away peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Flint, MI and grew up in Lakeview. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Iva Forgar; sister, Barbara Holbrook. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Barbara (Wizorek); children, Noelle (Corey) Fish, Scott Forgar; brothers and sisters, Richard Lee (Joanne) Forgar, Clarissa (John) Tonkin, Dema Gerencher, Jack Forgar; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Chuck retired from General Motors after 30 years of service as a tool and die journeyman. He was an avid fisherman in both the summer and winter. He loved to smoke and cook the fish he caught and was also a talented barbecuer. If he couldn’t fix something, he spent time learning until he could do it himself. A private family viewing and committal will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 11 am at the Resurrection Cemetery Chapel with Rosemary Beahan of St. Pius X presiding. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Operation Smile or St. Pius X Catholic Church. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Tom, Lauren, and Chris from Hospice of Michigan for their compassionate care.
