Rose Marion Schenck, age 94, of Kentwood, went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 11, 2026. She was preceded in death by her sons, Paul Zylema and Eric Zylema; former spouse, John Zylema. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Bob; sons, John and Nancy Zylema, Mark and Mary Zylema, Rock and Barb Zylema; step-daughter, Chrissy and Bob Henning; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rose was a hard worker, raising five boys and working for General Motors for many years. She was a very spiritual person, filling her days in prayer, and quietly supporting those who were in need. She had a sweet demeanor and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She cherished her time spent with family and friends and she will be dearly missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Wednesday, May 20 at St. Dominic’s Church, 50 Bellevue Street SW, Grand Rapids, with Rev. Daniel R Orris, Jr. officiating. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 3-5pm with a rosary at 2:30pm at Simple Traditions, 3131 Division Ave S, Wyoming. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
