Ronnie Vander Molen

Ronnie Vander Molen, age 68, of Jenison, formerly of Allendale, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, April 26, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his parents; John and Lela Vander Molen, Jr.; brothers, Don Vokal; John Vander Molen III; infant granddaughters, Hannah Rose, Vivian Grace. Ronnie will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Sheila; children and grandchildren, Ronnie Jr. and Leeanna Vander Molen (Bobby and Lola), Cristen and Mike Zattlin (Michelle, Ruthann, Kevin, Tim, Sam, and Maggie, ),  Anthony and Heather Vander Molen (Caden and McKinley); Adam and Lisa Vander Molen (Shelby and Parker); five  great-grandchildren; brothers, Terry and Alice Vander Molen; sisters, Linda Lewis, Cathy Nadaeu; sister-in-law, Carol Vander Molen;  many nieces and nephews.  Ronnie was generous to a fault and at times could be inappropriate. He liked going to casinos, playing Bingo, camping, and fishing.  He was known as “Captain Ron”.  Ronnie also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Later in life, he became disabled due to agent orange.  A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.  Burial at Allendale Cemetery.  “On Sunday I lost my best friend and husband. I am not sure how to live without him, as we have been together for over 49 years. Ron was just saying the other day, that we had a great run and we did not fight at all. Don’t get me wrong, we sure got annoyed with one another, but to fight with each other was in our opinion was a waste of time. I will forever miss you, Ron, and I love you more than words can say. Til we meet again in heaven ….” Sheila Vander Molen.
