Ronald Gene Tilley

Ronald Gene Tilley, age 86, of Delton, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2023, with his family at his side. Ron was born to the late George and Alice Tilley on March 12, 1936, in Jackson, MI. Ron was employed by Kellogg Biological Station in Hickory Corners, MI for many years in the Maintenance Department until his retirement. Ron married Delores Curtis on September 25, 1954. During their 64 years together, he loved traveling and camping in their trailer at the Betsie River with Delores any chance he could. Ron enjoyed working outdoors and doing woodworking for his family. He also enjoyed going to the casino up north and spending time with his children, grandchildren, siblings, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores; his parents, George and Alice Tilley; brothers, Wilbur and Claire; and sister, Carol Handley. He is survived by his brother, Dale Tilley; and sister, Glenadine Crosby. He is also survived by his children, Terry (Wendy) Tilley of Kalamazoo, Dot (Jim) Higdon of Delton, Barb (Doug) Livingston of Delton, Lorie Coe of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, James, Brandi, AJ, Chad, Ronnie, Bryan, Elmer, Josh, Travis, Ashton, Heather, Kaleigh, and Casey; along with his 28 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be conducted by Pastor Jeff Worden Jr. at the Hickory Corners Bible Church, located at 13720 Kellogg School Road, Hickory Corners, on Saturday, February 4, 2023, with a viewing from 11am to noon, a service from noon to 1pm, and a luncheon to follow located in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Centrica Care Navigators, 7100 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
