It is with heartfelt sorrow our journey together has ended as Ron begins a new journey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jean Edgerle and father-in-law, Richard Oreson. He will be remembered by his wife, Carrie; sons, Richard and Ryan (Nell); grandchildren, Jacob, Makayla, Logan, Cullen, Garrett, Bennett and Beckett; his brothers and sister, Robert (Kitty), Linda, Roger (Sandy); special mother-in-law, Marilyn Oreson; sister-in-law, Cathie (Jeff) Josephson; and niece, Erika. Ron served his country in the Army during the Vietnam Era. With the support of our loving family, many friends, Dr. Lehman, Casey, Advent home respiratory therapists, Brandi Jo and Kelly, our VA family and care-givers, Jennifer and Vanetta, we were able to enjoy our time with Ron and created many lasting memories. Ron was an inspiration to all who knew him as he refused to let ALS defeat him. Memorial services for Ron will be held Tuesday at 1:00 pm at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo SE with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ALS of Michigan (envelopes available at the funeral home).

Ron was a very courageous young man. He faced all of this with a positive outlook and always an infectious smile. He could not have asked for a better caregiver than Carrie. May God rest him in peace.

I stopped by MKD yesterday to pay my respects only to find out I was too early. And today I'm too late. I'm sorry for your loss. Ron and your family are not only great friends but great leaders and givers to the Kentwood Community. And I recall the games Ryan played for me and your undivided support. May Ron now rest in peace.
