Ronald and Ruth Bullis

Ronald Dwayne Bullis, 91, and his beloved wife of 71 years, Ruth Arlene Bullis, 89, of Comstock Park, Michigan, both went to be with their Savior on the same day, Thursday, August 5, 2021. Ruth met Jesus in the morning; Ron followed soon after, in the afternoon. Ron and Ruth are survived by five adult children and their spouses all whom they deeply loved—Patty (Roy) Johnson of Sparta, MI, Jack (Nancy) Bullis of Sebring, FL, Ron P (Robin) Bullis of Baldwin, MI, Philip S. Bullis currently of Sparta, MI, and Rodney (Teresa) Bullis of West Bend, WI. One other child preceded them in death through a miscarriage.

Ron was born on the Fourth of July, 1930, in Argyle, Michigan, the son of late Clare and Erma Bullis of Cheboygan, Michigan. He was the oldest of three siblings. He is survived by his beloved brother and sister—Bub (Dot) Bullis of Glendale, AZ and Emaline (Hank) Hulbert of Alto, MI. Ruth was born on April 3, 1932 in Waterford, MI, the daughter of the late Clarence and Edith Ewald of Cass City, MI. She is survived by two of her beloved siblings, her brother Bill (Jean) Ewald of Rockford, MI and her sister, Phyllis Montgomery of Wellsboro, PA. Ruth was preceded in death by her brother Richard Ewald.

Ron and Ruth have eight so greatly loved grandchildren—Jamie (Joy) Bullis, Jody (Brian) Breuker, Jenny (Allen) Makowski, Aaron Johnson, Jessica (Matt) Curtis, Sarah (DJ) Toth, Ron S. (Anna) Bullis and Angel (Bernie) Bacon, 23 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. They are also survived by many nieces and nephews whom they adored. Ron was Supervisor for JC Carlson Construction for many years, until his retirement. Ruth was a homemaker.

As befitting a couple who were rarely apart in life, and even together in death, one joint funeral service will be held for both Ron and Ruth Bullis on August 9, 2021, at Alpine Immanuel Baptist Church, 692 7-Mile Road, Comstock Park, MI 49321. Viewing is from 10am-11am. Their funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with a luncheon at the church immediately following.
