Roger Veldheer

Veldheer - Roger A. Veldheer born September 22, 1954 aged 62, of Wyoming, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016. He was born in Holland, MI. Attended Holland Elementary school, and graduated from Grandville High School. He studied at Grand Valley State University, graduated with an Associates degree. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Veldheer and Thelma Veldheer (Cannis); nephews Norman Lantis Jr. and Zachary Johnson; siblings, Shirley Sybesma, Linda Johnson, Norman (Lucille) Lantis. Roger is survived by in only son, Matthew; also surviving are Matthew's mother, Sally Hulbert; brother-in-law, David Johnson; nephew, David (Jean) Sybesma; nieces, Liz (Tom) Dirkse, Suzie Harkema, Patricia and Kathryn Lantis. Great nieces and nephews, Abigail (Scott) Rudick, Kevin (Angie) Dirkse, Steve and Nicole Harkema, Kimberly (Jon) Haveman, Lisa Hitchcock, Scott (Meredith) Sybesma. Roger loved his son and was very proud of Matthew, always encouraging him to be the best version of himself. He loved watching the Detroit Tigers games and was a big Lions fan. Roger enjoyed golfing and in his younger years dreamed of being a professional golfer. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Kentwood Seventh-day Adventist Church, 4215 - 44th St. SE, Kentwood 49512 (just east of Broadmoor/M-37). Roger's cremains were buried on October 10, 2016 at Rest Lawn Memorial Park located at 3450 Eastern Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508. Sorrow not, for we have this hope, he is resting there awaiting for our Lord to return with loud heavenly trumpet blast and shout, we will meet him again at resurrection time.
