Remembering Roger Harrison Poll
Roger “Red” H. Poll, age 90, of Kentwood, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Roger retired after many years as a tool and die maker from Keeler Brass and later General Motors. Roger enjoyed golfing, Tigers Baseball, woodworking, and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and ‘putzing’ around his home with various projects.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 70 years, Joan; children: Charlene Poll, Kathy Vernon, Betty Golembiewski, Judy and Tim Ronda, Steve Poll; eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Ade (Marge) VanderStarre, Al Wychers; sister-in-law, Sue VanderStarre; many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son-in-laws: John Vernon, Greg Golembiewski; great granddaughter, Madison VanHorn; brother, Gordon; sister, Valerie.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Chaplain Les Wiseman officiating. Relatives and friends may visit the family on Friday from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Restlawn Cemetery in Wyoming, Michigan.
