Roger E. Chandler

Roger E. Chandler, age 83, of Byron Center, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 17, 2020.  Roger loved boat races, car shows, grandchildren’s sporting events, and many trips to Florida.  He also loved being at church and volunteering in the sound ministry for many years.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Diane; children: Cindy and Rick Visser, Nancy Chandler, Scott and Nicki Chandler, Kristi and Edwin Lagos; grandchildren: Rachel and Matt Bissell, Keri Visser, Bridget Visser, Gabi Chandler, Ryan Chandler, Drew Chandler, and Cameron Chandler; great grandson: Sullivan Bissell.  He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Ella (Steed) Chandler; sister, Virginia Wilson.  According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice, Grand Rapids First Church or Alzheimer's Association.
