Remembering Roger Douglas Swadner
Roger Douglas Swadner, age 69, of Alto, was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Saturday, July 22, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents Emerson and Vera Swadner; father-in-law and mother-in-law Glenn and Shirley Goerke; granddaughter, Stephanie Swadner; brother-in-law, Dennis Miller. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Sharon; his children, Todd and Roddney; one sister Sharron Miller; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law; many nieces and nephews. Roger valiantly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed automobiles and helping others. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Kentwood) 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Interment Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Hospice.
