Allen, Roger Dale Roger Dale Allen, age 61, of Burt Lake, MI, formerly of Byron Center, was called home on Monday, October 22, 2012.  He was a graduate of Hudsonville High School and Ferris State University and served in the National Guard.  He was a former employee of Buiter Tool and Die in Byron Center, Birchwood Horse Farms of Goodheart, and most recently of Tube Fab/Roman Engineering in Afton, MI.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Vivian Allen; brother, Lynn Allen.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Vicki; his children, Jammie Allen, Tammie Athey; grandchildren, Alexis, Anthony, Andrew, Gracie; mother-in-law, Joy Naumann; sister-in-law, Penny Tabor, all of Burt Lake; brothers, Lee and Shirley Allen of Hastings, Clifford Allen Jr. of Shawano, WI, Gale Allen of Kentwood; aunt, Dorothy Allen of Byron Center; uncle, Roger VerStrat of Byron Center; family member, Carol Hillary of Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be held at 4:30 pm on Monday, October 29 at Ohioville Cemetery in Burt Lake with a luncheon to follow at Burt Lake Christian Church, (M68 and Ellinger) 10989 Michigan 68, Alanson, MI.  A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, November 1 from 4:30-8 pm at the Memories Room of Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of the Straits or the American Cancer Society.
