Rodney Florez

Rodney Florez, age 57, a beloved family member and cherished friend, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan, to Linda Florez. Rodney lived a life filled with compassion, kindness, and love.

He always put others before himself. He was a truly selfless individual who had a profound impact on the lives of those who had the privilege to know him. His favorite hobby was working on cars as he had helped fix many of them for family and friends. He loved to watch sports as he was an avid Michigan football and Detroit Lions fan.
He will be joining his mother, Linda M Florez Garcia; and brother, Thomas G Florez. Along with his grandparents, Filemon Florez and Jessusa Florez.

Rodney is survived by his aunts, Romona Hernandez, June Florez, Elaine Ramos, Rebecca Vega; brother, Leonard Florez; partner, Monica Metz and her three sons; nieces and nephews, Savannah Roberts Florez, Diedre Roberts Florez, Leonard Florez Jr., Gabriela Ryan, Daniel Florez; great-nephews and great-nieces; and many cousins whom he all loved.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
