Robert Zickus

ZICKUS - Mr. Robert J. "Bob" Zickus Sr., aged 70 of Sparta, entered eternal life while surrounded by the love of his family Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Edward. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, LaVerne; children, Teresa (Rick) Meier, Robert (Vickie) Zickus Jr., Joseph (Jackie) Zickus, Barbara Zickus, John Zickus, Kristen (Paul) Jager, Rick Venema; 17 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Sharon) Zickus; sister, Donna Newton; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Westmaas, Mary DeJonge, Donnie Zickus and several nieces and nephews. Bob was a charter member of Wyoming Moose Lodge #702, a member of Grand Rapids/Sparta Moose Lodge #50, and a member of American Legion - Sparta. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 18, 2011 at Peace Lutheran Church, 1225 - 12 Mile Rd., Sparta. His family will greet relatives and friends Sunday from 6 to 9 PM at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE and one hour prior to the service at church. Interment St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Grand Rapids NW. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church Food Pantry or the Humane Society of West Michigan.
