Robert Wayne Smrcina Jr.

Robert (Bobby) W. Smrcina, Jr., age 56 of Caledonia, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 24, 2021. He is survived by his daughter, Tabetha Lynn Smrcina, his mother Valerie Joan Smrcina, sisters; Vicki Stratton, Joanne (Scott Peck) Smrcina, Tina (Tony) Larson. Nieces and nephews Tracy (JL) Divers, Matt (Dustin Christensen) Bamm, Kristen (Andy) Abbott, Alex (Ayesha Husain) Larson, Sam (Monserrat Rodriguez Warden) Larson, Hayley (Julien) Lefèvre, Grace (Peter) Stitch. Many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Robert W. Smrcina, Sr. and brother-in-law DeWayne Stratton. Bob is a veteran of the Gulf War. He grew up in Montague and Wyoming, Michigan, and spent many years living in Caledonia, Michigan. He spent several years as a landscaper. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time out-of-doors. Bob was a kind and funny man and he will be greatly missed by anyone that had the pleasure of knowing and loving him. Bob the father and Bob the son are together again. May the Holy Spirit wrap them in heavenly peace. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date.

To my Smrcina cousins. I am so saddened to hear of Bobby's passing. My heart goes out to all of you. I was babysitting the girls when Bobby was born and brought home from the hospital. Thoughts, prayers, and so much love coming your way.

Dear Family and friends, Bobby was a great friend of mine in high school at Wyoming park. We used to go boating on Lake Michigan together on my dads boat, we used to have great fun going to the drive in with friends in his really cool Malibu convertible. Steve Troseth and I really looked up to Bobby as he was older than us. He was a very positive friend to have and nice person whose friendship mattered a great deal to me. We stayed in touch a bit, but I moved to Beverly Hills, Ca. and we didn’t as much as I wish we would have. I’m so sad to not have the chance now to re kindle. I remember meeting Bobby in seventh grade when we played for the Bearcats and classes together all through high school. Though the shifting sands of life took our lives in different directions after high school news of his death really hit me hard. I have been praying and will continue to pray for Tabetha and his family.
