Robert W. Cornelisse

Robert W. Cornelisse, age 90, of Kentwood, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 4, 2024. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn (Faber); second wife, Mickey (Maxine Dyer); grandson, Christopher Godfrey; his parents and all of his siblings. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his children, Kathy and Patrick Bigelow, Robert L. and Joyce Cornelisse, Susan and Russ Godfrey; grandchildren, Tia and Brandon Beak, Katie and Scott Fitton, Kelly and Kevin Whittemore, Kerry and Ethan Oostdyk, Sharon Godfrey, Shelby Godfrey-Gruis and Michael Gruis, Luke Godfrey and fiancée, Zee Boyce; great grandchildren, Evelyn, and Addison Beak, Robert S. Fitton, Juliette Fitton, Samuel Oostdyk, Seth Oostdyk; step-sons, Gary Dyer, Craig Dyer, Walt Dyer, Matt Dyer, Brian Dyer, and their families; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He proudly served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean War. He retired from Steelcase after many years of loyal service. Bob enjoyed camping, traveling, cruises and being involved in his church. His greatest joy was in spending time with his family and providing for them and leading by example. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 10 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Drive SW, Grandville. Burial will be held at Rest Lawn Memorial Park.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Saturday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
