Robert Owen Shaver

Robert Owen Shaver Sr., age 86, of Byron Center, joined his Redeemer and Savior on Thursday, January 27, 2022. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61.5 years, Annette (VanderKooi); sons, Ross Shaver and Lisa Shaver, David Shaver; grandchildren: Kristy (Tom) Bishop, Craig (Heather) Shaver, Kerry (Chris) Quade, Luke Shaver; great grandchildren: Connor, Holly and Cayden Shaver, Bennett, Bristol and Colette Bishop, Jules, Jemma, and Gentry Quade; sister-in-law, Barbara (Jim) Putman; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, Robert Owen Shaver Jr., Randall Scott Shaver; granddaughter, Katie Shaver; sister, Norma (John) Triemstra; brother-in-law, Ron (Betty) VanderKooi. Bob was a graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School, Calvin College in Grand Rapids, and Western Seminary in Holland. He Pastored churches at Riverside Reformed Church in Paterson, NJ; Belleville Reformed Church in Belleville, NJ; Clymer Hill Reformed Church in Clymer, NY. He was also the Prison Chaplain at Fox Lake, Wisconsin and Ridgeville, South Carolina. Bob was also very active in Habitat for Humanity and World Renew. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date. Burial will be held at Winchester Cemetery.
