Robert Kaufman

Robert M. Kaufman, age 73, of Newaygo, passed away, Monday, October 8, 2012. Bob was the former owner of Auto Fixit Body Shop for many years. He loved taking trips on his motorcycle across the entire U.S and finally realized his dream of traveling to Alaska this past summer. He spent hours working on his beloved 1949 Hudson Hornet and took great pains to be sure all work was done with perfection. His greatest love was his family! Bob was preceded by his parents and his brother, Raymond. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kathleen; his children, Dan Newhouse, Lori (Doug) LaFave, Michael Newhouse, Kimberly (Dallas) Bell; Julie (Lynn) Reed and Tammy (Jay) DeVries. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brett (Jessica) Dekkenga, Adam LaFave, Mackenzie Bell, Jessica Newhouse, Alexis Newhouse, Zachary Newhouse, Ariel Newhouse, Maelee Newhouse, Chase Newhouse, Miranda (Andrew) Blease, Marcos (Kelli) Gomez, Sarah (Brian) Leonardo, Lisa (Mike) Toth, Dan (Laurel) Peacock, Corrin Bradley and Jason DeVries; great grandchildren, Madison, Lily, Emma, Grace, Malikye and Quinn; his sisters, Alice (Jim) Uplinger and Nancy (Larry) Travis; in-laws, Robert (Judy) Hoekstra, Bonnie (Don) Beaulieau; his aunt, Anna Kaufman and several nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa and truly loved & enjoyed his time spent with family and friends. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE, Belmont. The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the funeral chapel.
